At Madera, we're taking advantage of the availability of great luthier friends here in our city, Granada, to create a series of videos in which they work on different parts of their guitar builds. Through these videos, we get to witness the extraordinary work, hours, experience, knowledge, talent, and creativity that a high-quality guitar demands.
In this video, our great friend Sergio Valverde shows us how he approaches the shaping of both the neck and headstock of the guitar. We find it fascinating to observe the methods these makers use — some inherited from Granada's remarkable tradition of guitar building, spanning over 200 years, and others invented by the makers themselves to accomplish a particular task in their own way.
