Biography
The guitar crafted by Italian luthier Luca Pollastro for MADERA represents an excellent work of sensitivity, where tradition and modernity converge organically. Its design radiates timeless elegance: the reinvented headstock and contemporary rosette lines showcase a bit of an avant-garde approach, but always refined by exquisite taste that rejects excess. Details like the purflings and bindings reveal millimeter-perfect craftsmanship, testifying to Pollastro’s approach and tendency for visual harmony. It’s beauty with meaning and with balance.
The sound -as with all guitars selected by MADERA is the most important thing we always consider- is also full of elegance: a projected voice rich in nuances, capable of unfolding a tonal palette of captivating expressiveness. Its perfect balance between depth and clarity makes it a versatile instrument, ideal for musicians seeking dynamism without compromising warmth. The immediate response and remarkable playability allow each note to flow naturally.
This guitar possesses a distinctive, original character. Luca Pollastro has created an instrument with unique identity, where every element -from the selection of exquisite woods (like its exceptional soundboard and Indian rosewood back/sides he chose for this MADERA guitar) to the flawless finishes- reflects his philosophy as a luthier. Designed for musicians who value beauty, elegance, precision, and tonal personality.

Born in 1994 in Galliate.
At a very young age he became passionate about woodworking and music; during his last years of high school he built his first musical instruments completely self-taught.
In 2015 he enrolled at the Civic School of Luthiery in Milan, guitar section, where he obtained the diploma of Luthier under the teaching of Masters Lorenzo Lippi and Fabio Bonardi.
In 2019, as soon as he finished his studies, he undertook an internship at Aldo Illotta’s workshop, deepening his skills in the field of classical and acoustic guitars.
In 2020 he opened his workshop in Galliate where he mainly deals with the construction of classical guitars and the repair of plucked instruments.
The construction philosophy is traditional, of constant inspiration from the great masters of the past but, at the same time, attentive to the needs of the contemporary guitarist. The woods used for his instruments are scrupulously selected based on specific aesthetic and mechanical characteristics. Great attention is paid to playability, attention to detail and sound structure; the aesthetic choices and decorative color combinations between the various woods are an original and distinctive feature of his guitars.
